When creating my Schadograph, I took quite a different approach compared to the others. Instead of carefully depicting what objects I will use and where they will be on the page, I randomly chose and scattered a variety of opaque and translucent objects, creating different effects and patterns. After leaving the paper with the objects on it under a light for 7 seconds, I left the paper in the developer for the image to form, then in the fixer chemical to stop any light continuing to affect the paper.
I believe the image was successful in creating mixed textures, and is a good example of how different objects and their varied opaqueness can affect the light-sensitive paper. If I was to do create another Schadgraph, I would possibly cut around the image to make a more obscure shape; experimenting with Christian Schad's processes. Furthermore, I would've liked to experiment with how the chemicals affect the image's clarity, depending on the length of time it sits in each chemical. |
