Introduction
My name is Jacob Fitzgibbon and this is my photography portfolio. I have been interested in photography since I was given a 'Foam' magazine when I was 12 from a family friend. The magazine itself was published in 2005 but it really caught my attention, in particular the works of Tom Wood's 'The Bus Series', consisting of images Wood had taken whilst travelling on various buses. What i enjoyed so much about it was the fact that it completely encapsulated the life of sidewalk Britain at the time, and the fact such a simple concept could tell so much showed me the potential photography has as an art form, as one can photograph anything. Growing up in London has fueled my inspiration and interest in photography too, seeing as so much is going on and it's a lot to absorb. Photography from my perspective allows you to capture a particular moment or place that can be appreciated more than one's current, hectic surroundings, and this idea has enticed me for years. Here you will find a collection of my own inspired images, and a look into the various photographers that influence me and my art.
